It's a phrase that has different meanings depending upon the inflection and/or attitude with which it's spoken.  While 'what do YOU want' has often been lobbed at yours truly with a level of annoyance - [for instance, when i try to cop a feel from the Mrs.] - in this case it's an honest question about what YOU, the 96ROCKHEAD, wants. 

Aside from 'More Pantera, Dude' - I'd love to know what you're looking for in a radio station.  We all like to think we know - and the research companies that have cropped up over the past two decades love to charge us to tell us what the same few people each week tell them THEY want - but here it is...out in the open.....what DO you want?  I'm curious... Do you give a shit about 10 in a row THIS or long blocks of THAT?

"Dolphin? Is that you?"

Yes....yes it is.....

I've had that question asked of me on the phone at least a thousand times over the past few weeks...I am indeed the 'artist formely known as Dolphin' - a man, who in 2004 left the Queen City to spend three years in a city that God hates so much he unleashed tornadoes upon its downtown twice this past weekend.

I went to Atlanta to work for a broadcasting company that still operates some stations here in town [or at least they did last time I checked - which was last August].

Then something really cool happened. They fired me last fall after 16 years of service.

Dear Delta....

My name is (insert name here)...I just wanted to thank you.  Recently, I booked a flight to go see my family in one of your hub cities that isn't Cincinnati.  In case one of your PR folks is reading this - it rhymes with Shatblantuh. 

Thanks to you, I am going to be able to fly home to see my family for Easter for just under $400.00 - REALLY!! only $400....

....and all I had to do was book it thru Priceline.com....and be willing to fly out of Dayton....at 6 in the morning.  But none of this would have been possible if you hadn't offered this flight on one of your 'partner' airlines for the low, low price of $400....instead of the $1000.00 you wanted me to pay to take a shorter flight, that presumably would use less fuel, out of Cincinnati.

Some numbskull [professional] woman in New Jersey is suing a bunch of casinos [casin-i?] for not stopping her from losing all of her money, her home, her PARENT'S home and her law practice due to her gambling 'addiction'....Apparently this woman was some sort of 'ambitious' lawyer and TV 'commentator'.  Now she'll forever be known as 'plaintiff'.  Get this. She is filing a 20 million dollar [that's million with an '-illion'] racketeering lawsuit against a full house of gambling emporiums in Atlantic City and Las Vegas claiming they should have known she had a problem and stopped her. 

Imagine if they had tried.

Tonight was supposed to be the Van Halen show at US Bank.  The show's been postponed until April 22nd [curiously AFTER they are scheduled to play Tiger Woods' "Tiger Jam" benefit on April 19th in Vegas] - Look, I don't know what's going to happen; I hope they make it back as I've never seen VH with DLR and I need to see something that scrubs Dave's Lounge Act show from my memory banks, but it got me to thinking:  What IS the coolest show I've ever seen [and, more importantly, what are the coolest shows YOU'VE ever seen - and why?]

STP @ The Palace Theatre in Louisville / Metallica at Rockingham during a wicked lightning storm / KISS with AC/DC [Bon Scott was still fronting the band] / Kid Rock and Metallica at Kentucky Speedway plus LOTS of shows at Bogart's [GWAR - Butthole Surfers - Chili Peppers - Royal Crescent Mob to name a few]

I can't imagine that you're enjoying the election process, what with the endless saying of 'nothing' that's been going on amongst the candidates.  But here's the deal.  You need to start paying SOME attention to what the hell is going on or before you know it we'll all be jumping up and down in the streets shooting guns up in the air willy nilly instead of going to work like some other 'less democratic' nations. 

THEN what?!  Will we be tossing our dead leaders up and down in their caskets upon their deaths until their corpses pop out like a 'Whack A Mole' game.  Look, we may have a bunch of lying spin-masters [keep in mind that 3 of the 4 leading candidates today SWORE they weren't going to seek the 2008 nominations of their respective parties] but it still beats the s#!t out of the backward ass 'transition of power' of many countries around the world.....
