The date is set - Saturday,  June 21st [rain date is Sunday the 22nd] - It'll be a day full of loud pipes and louder music as we remember our friend Mr K, Ken Glidewell, EXACTLY the way he'd want to be remembered.  Everything kicks off at 10am at Aces n Eights Harley in Mason [his most recent gig was at Aces n Eights working for Larry and Michelle]

Ken's new insurance was set to kick in on June 1 so, needless to say, there are some pretty big commitments to cover.  The goal is to get as many as we can together to give back to the memory and family of a man's whose sole goal in life was to make you laugh at the ridiculousness of it all.....

If you'd like to make the Kickstands and Rock Bands event your destination for a fund-raising ride please know that you can drop off any cash collected at Aces and Eights and that EVERY PENNY OF IT will go to the memorial fund. ... Read More »

This alleged 'worker freakout' happened last month - Is it sad that I'm so jaded that I feel like it was staged to see what the 'blogosphere' would make of it?

Your thoughts?

Today we lost a dear friend.  Ken Glidewell - known by many over the last few decades as "Mr. K" - died this morning of injuries sustained in an accident on Memorial Day.  I say 'we' lost a dear friend because Ken's friendship extended well beyond a small circle.  Hell, he was the de facto 'King of Hamilton!' - a title he did not seek, nor one he took lightly.

I met K in 1986 when I started at WOXY - he busted my balls that day.  He busted my balls on Saturday at King's Island while awaiting the Robbie Knievel jump.  I wouldn't have had it any other way.  Over the years he was one of a very few people I knew I could count on to make me laught or just hear me out when I needed to be heard - no matter the circumstance.  When I was fired last fall he was the first to call to check on me.  When he was fired last winter he was the first to call me to tell me about it.  Read More »
