A 27-year-old blogger named Kevin Cogill was arrested on Wednesday (August 27th) at his Los Angeles home on suspicion of violating federal copyright laws for leaking nine Guns N' Roses songs online, according to the Los Angeles Times. Cogill, who used the name Skwerl, was accused of posting the songs at a website called Antiquiet in June, where they were available for public access. The site crashed from the amount of traffic it received once word of the leaked tracks got out. Cogill admitted to federal agents that he posted the songs and was expected to appear in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon.

Cogill operates Antiquiet himself and used to work in the distribution department of Universal Music, which owns Guns N' Roses' catalog.

It is not yet known how Cogill obtained the tracks, which are taken from the yet-to-be-released Guns N' Roses album, Chinese Democracy. He told Rolling Stone that he received them from an &quo ... Read More »

Hey Rockheads before we get into the new blog I just wanted to apologize for taking so much time off. With Helluva Week, Mayhemfest plus traveling it's been tough to get any info worth a shit to put out there but I'm back now so let's get into some headlines:

Slipknot releases its fourth major label album, All Hope Is Gone today! The CD is the band's first new studio offering in more than four years, following 2004's Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses). Lead vocalist Corey Taylor has injected a lot of religious, Biblical and numerological references into his lyrics this time, and told us he's wanted to tackle these themes for nearly two years: "When it came time to write and put stuff together, I had stuff that I really wanted to say. Stuff that was just very blatant, but very powerful. And I was able to fit it together with the music, so that was, you know, kind of a lucky thing. It was just time for me to start talking about these concepts, you know. I'd kind of done the thing ... Read More »

Too properly start this blog the words WOW have to be established cause that's exactly how I felt after seeing on the better tours this year! WOW Now first I have to admit I only saw three bands... now before you jump up and scream at me let me explain what went down.

First we hit the Belly Bus at 11am with our winners and the festivities begin! The first ever Cornholeshop.com Cornhole Tournament starts with 6 teams competing to go backstage with Five Finger Death Punch and Disturbed! So we do a double elimination tournament with the winner being Shake N Bake which were Ben and Grant. Lots of beers and shots went down and we rolled up to the Verizon Wireless Center with a pretty good buzz going and only had to make two piss stops on the way up at a gas station and a Panera Bread restaurant. Customers at Panera looked a bit leary when a prison bus rolled up outsid their store and then a bunch of half drunk rockerheads came pouring out but all was well.... the pee was great ... Five Finger Death Punch has unveiled the details for its fall headlining tour of the U.S., which will begin on September 29th in Colorado Springs and wrap up more than eight weeks later on December 4th in San Diego. The hard-rocking five-piece, which is currently appearing on the Rockstar Energy Mayhem trek, will bring In This Moment, Bury Your Dead and Another Black Day along for the ride. Frontman Ivan Moody said in a statement, "After kicking ass with all our metal friends on Mayhem this past summer, we knew that our next step had to be massive!!...We are pulling out ALL the stops and we are taking no prisoners!!"

Five Finger Death Punch has been on the road almost nonstop since the release last year of the band's debut disc, The Way of the Fist. Moody, who suffered from throat problems earlier this year, told us what his pre-show ritual is like these days: "I usually like to chew on glass and punch myself many times. No, my pre-ritual is basically just w ... Read More »

If you have missed Slipknot on this summer's Rockstar Energy Mayhem tour, don't worry -- the band will return for its own trip through the U.S. starting in late January. It's too early for details, but fans will probably hear a lot more of the band's new album, All Hope Is Gone, on that trek. The group is only playing one new song on the current trip, but singer Corey Taylor told us he couldn't be happier with the response the band has received: "It's very appreciative. It's been two and a half years since we played, our first show was Seattle and people were just so cheesed to see us, you know what I mean? It was such a great feeling. And, you know, the feedback afterward is just so good, man. People are just celebrating you being there, and if you do well, then people are just really gonna have a good time watching you."

In addition to all-new masks and costumes, Slipknot's current stage show features a lift that raises percussionist Shawn Crahan high above the ... Read More »

Three Days Grace will release a concert DVD called Live at the Palace in two weeks, on August 19th. According to Tunelab Music, the disc will only be available at Best Buy stores. No other details about the track listing, additional features or packaging has been made available. A new live DVD from the Canadian group seems like a natural, given the amount of roadwork the band has done in the last five years. Frontman Adam Gontier told us that all that touring has paid off for the band: "I don't know, I think it's really the only way for a rock band to do it, is to get as many tours as you can, play with as many bands as you can just to get out there because it's...you know, putting out just a radio single and hoping to have some longevity with that is pretty weak. So, you know, you gotta tour, and that's, we've been on tour, basically, constantly since the first record."

Three Days Grace came off the road earlier this spring after touring for the better part of t ... Read More »
