What up Rockheads, sorry for the lack of blog's lately but it' s been a bit quiet in the music biz except for the DJ AM and Travis Barker plane crash but here's an update on the guys and some other tidbits for you to munch on...

Travis Barker is pimping out his hospital room as he recovers from burns sustained in an airplane accident on September 19th. According to Barker's pal, music producer Jermaine Dupri, the drummer has outfitted his room with iPods, computers, and various other high-tech gadgets. Dupri told People magazine, "He's just now getting everything in the hospital set up for him. You got to make sure he is comfortable."

Dupri estimates that Barker will be laid up at least another two weeks at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center, where he's undergone several surgeries for his second- and third-degree burns. Barker is expected to send a message to fans and supporters from the hospital this week.

With former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and turntablist DJ AM still hospitalized in critical condition after their brush with death, officials are investigating whether or not a blown tire led to the fiery crash that killed four people and left Barker and AM severely injured on Friday (September 19th). The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) confirmed that the Learjet attempting to take the men from South Carolina to California had an inoperable wheel during its botched takeoff, and this may have contributed to the aircraft's deadly collision. The NTSB has contacted Goodyear tires for further information, and the tire manufacturer said in a statement that it "will cooperate fully" with the investigation.

Barker and DJ AM -- whose real name is Adam Goldstein -- had performed at a concert in Columbia, South Carolina before boarding the chartered plane bound for the Los Angeles area. They suffered second- and third-degree burns and are recovering at an A ... Read More »

Mudvayne has revealed the details of its first North American tour in three years, as well as more information about the band's upcoming album, The New Game. Through a program called "The Album Is The Ticket," fans who pre-order the record at BestBuy.com will have an opportunity to buy a ticket to the tour through a code accompanying each copy or pre-order of the CD. The code will take buyers to a private fan club area at TheAlbumIsTheTicket.com where they can buy their ticket and also receive a one-year membership in Mudvayne's fan club.

Singer Chad Gray said in a statement, "Traditionally, over the life cycle of an album, a fan purchases a CD, DVD, tickets to a show and a fan club membership, generally spending over $100 for the experience. For the launch of The New Game, fans can experience all of these elements for well under $40."

The New Game is due out on November 18th and follows up Mudvayne's last all-new studio effo ... Read More »

A 27-year-old blogger named Kevin Cogill was arrested on Wednesday (August 27th) at his Los Angeles home on suspicion of violating federal copyright laws for leaking nine Guns N' Roses songs online, according to the Los Angeles Times. Cogill, who used the name Skwerl, was accused of posting the songs at a website called Antiquiet in June, where they were available for public access. The site crashed from the amount of traffic it received once word of the leaked tracks got out. Cogill admitted to federal agents that he posted the songs and was expected to appear in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon.

Cogill operates Antiquiet himself and used to work in the distribution department of Universal Music, which owns Guns N' Roses' catalog.

It is not yet known how Cogill obtained the tracks, which are taken from the yet-to-be-released Guns N' Roses album, Chinese Democracy. He told Rolling Stone that he received them from an &quo ... Read More »

Hey Rockheads before we get into the new blog I just wanted to apologize for taking so much time off. With Helluva Week, Mayhemfest plus traveling it's been tough to get any info worth a shit to put out there but I'm back now so let's get into some headlines:

Slipknot releases its fourth major label album, All Hope Is Gone today! The CD is the band's first new studio offering in more than four years, following 2004's Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses). Lead vocalist Corey Taylor has injected a lot of religious, Biblical and numerological references into his lyrics this time, and told us he's wanted to tackle these themes for nearly two years: "When it came time to write and put stuff together, I had stuff that I really wanted to say. Stuff that was just very blatant, but very powerful. And I was able to fit it together with the music, so that was, you know, kind of a lucky thing. It was just time for me to start talking about these concepts, you know. I'd kind of done the thing ... Read More »
