Last night the Raconteurs played at the new National City Pavilion at Riverbend....and did they ever play! I don't know the last time I saw a show as good as this one. And I'm not just saying that because Jack had on the best pair of pants I have ever seen in my life. Seriously. Wow. As Gamble would say, "That's a holy!"

But back to the show...I really don't know what to say about it, other than if you were there, you know how good it was. If you haven't seen these guys play live, you need to the next time they roll through town. I've seen enough live footage of Jack with the White Stripes and as much as I love them, it's nice to see him play with a full band. I can't say enough good things about Brendan Benson, either- equally as talented as Jack & he has some very snazzy hair. And of course Jack & Patrick I've seen over the years with the Greenhornes, and I'm just real happy for those guys to hook up with the other two & create such an awesome band. I love their recorded stuff, but this is definitely a band you want to see live to really appreciate them.

If you were at the show I'd love to know what you thought of it...or if you're heading down to Bonnaroo this week be sure to catch them while you're there & let me know what you think when you get back. And a big thanks to Rosemarie at Riverbend for the great tickets- the only way to see Jack in those pants is from the third row!

Re: Jack, the Raconteurs, and his pants

I'm looking for a song that sounds like the Raconteurs Salute Your Solution, but the lyrics seemed to talking about America taking care of its own business before dealing with world's. I've only heard it twice on the station, so it might not even be a Raconteurs song, but it definitely has the sound and vocals of that song, but the lyrics are different.

Anywho, love the station, keep up the great music! Later!

Hey there....you are probably thinking of the song Icky Thump by the White Stripes...which is of course also Jack White :)
